What actually sells on ShopGoodwill, and for how much? We looked at 432,090 ShopGoodwill auctions that closed with a winning bid between Sep 28 and Oct 30, 2026, across 157 Goodwill sellers. Together they sold for $34.3 million in winning bids, not counting shipping.
The short version: jewelry is the money category, clothing is the volume category, and a small slice of auctions over $250 brings in a third of all dollars. The typical ShopGoodwill auction closes at $41 with 6 bids.
All figures are as of Oct 30, 2026. They are not live, and they cover only auctions that ended with at least one bid, so items that closed with no bids are not counted.

Three things stand out:
- Jewelry carries the site. Jewelry & Gemstones was 24% of won auctions but 38% of all winning-bid dollars, about $13.0 million. One in three jewelry auctions closed at $100 or more.
- Clothing is the volume, not the value. Clothing had the most auctions of any category (25%) but only 17% of the dollars, with a $33 median.
- Cameras and musical instruments run high. Both had medians in the $50s and more than a quarter of auctions at $100 or more, close behind jewelry.

Auctions that closed at $250 or more were 5.1% of the total and 34.6% of all winning-bid dollars. They also drew about five times as many bids as auctions under $25 (18 to 22 bids against 4). If you shop the expensive end, expect competition. If you shop under $25, you are often bidding against only a few people.

- Jewelry, cameras and instruments are where $100+ auctions cluster. If you resell in these, you are competing with the most bidders on the site.
- Clothing is cheap to win but thin on margin. Most clothing closes between $21 and $56, and shipping is added on top.
- Grab bags and lots are priced like single items. Costume jewelry grab bags closed at a $66 median, so check what is actually in the photos.
- Price in shipping. None of the prices here include it, and on heavy items it can be more than the winning bid.

Category names are ShopGoodwill’s own, so an item listed in the wrong category is counted where the seller put it. All figures are aggregates; no individual bidders are named.
